Deja vu

Well, I can only guess, that it has been a deja vu, because as far as I can tell i have played this game exactly one time. So he died one time. ...wait a second. He died one time? Considering, that to this point at least 40.000 people have opened this submission it might as well be, that he died around that number of times. 40.000 extra lives, equally divided by 40.000 players...

Actually, I did have seen this before in another game I have stumbled upon. A game where you see a scene though a scope, aiming at a blindfolded guy tied to a pole. To win the game, you just had to hit escape. A curious minded player, used to the idea of scoring by shooting at virtual persons might consider it a good idea to just shoot the guy. The game wrote a key into the registry to keep you from playing again. "Some decisions bear consequenced which can not be undone"

Jeez, imagine if you bought a cartridge for an older game system where you actually only got one life. Would you buy another cartridge to try again, would you smash the cartridge in anger... or just wait until someone managed to beat the game and puts it on youtube...

Luckily such things don't really happen and the idea of games with only one real try are only a feature of indie games and... well... arcade games.

I made it to World 5. Woo!

[This game was very short, but entertaining for the time being. Message got delivered and you aren't in danger of getting bored if you stop pestering the grave over and over]

That game is Execution, by Jesse Venbrux (better known for his Super Karoshi games)

A deeper look into a viewers mind:

I shall grace you with a list of feelings i had when using the different killing method (yes, killing. on second thought i noticed that it isn't actual suicide, just willingly submitting to being killed)

3-holy moly, change of scenery, although not creepy at all
4-good choice to keep the eyes visible. not too creepy and original
5-quick and with a creepy scream. he died a bit too fast maybe...
6-a slow and painful way to die when not properly prepared... ouch...
7-Confusing... shouldnt he be dead on second step? anyway, twist->creepy!
8-Inhuman and slow way to die... i guess he is too eager to die to suffer...
9-My personal champion. Scream went right through my bones, uaahhh!
10-Evil! Really slow, and you could see that he's been panicking a bit!
11-Now, was it crying or laughter... either way, twas okay...
12-just... what was... no i dont want to know, im happy enough i didnt understand a single word! >_<

14-Trippy... Its good to know that death can be colourful... i guess
15-For the process itself, not made spectacular enough... though graphically sweet!
16-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!111

All in all, a nice way to kill some time, graphically moderate (yet functional) nice choice of atmospheric ambience and excellent and creepy voice acting! I only wish he had suffered a bit more, but... ah well he was too eager to die as i said...

Your review was well thought out and very informative. You, sir, need not eat glass or have anything terrible befall you, for you are alright in my book.
As to NOT dying during the second step of the Surgery, it was simply creative, comedic license. Does Wile E. Coyote ever die after anything done to him? No. And in much the same way, our victim needed an extra little something to end his misery.
So, thank you for this insightful review. I hoped you enjoyed my little game. And, finally...
Love & Kisses.

It´s so sad. I normally don´t like writing bad reviews... but i recently got my ass kicked in my favorite FPS, so i don´t care.

If you are a young and learning flash artist i want to say: "Keep on going, you´r on the right way!" The graphics need a bit of working (especially there pretty unusual enemies... or targets, or whatever it is). Some more moves would be nice (more than one, especially some more simple, slashes for example), and how about letting this kiddie stuff out of the thing... and how about making a serious game out of it...

if you are just someone who wanted to post his "doings" at any cost, i shall turn my back on you!

"swordsman 5: the game" is better
